My name is Ellen. I began to blog as a creative outlet, inspired by the many military spouses who blog about the unique and sometimes crazy life of being a military family. I have been an Army wife for over ten eleven years, but I am also a sometime classical pianist, seamstress or budding photographer but most importantly I am always Mama to my preschool age daughter (known here as the dutchkid).
And what exactly is a Dutchican? A term of endearment for someone of Dutch and Mexican descent. It is a blend of cultures that has shaped how I look at the world.
